language elemental [2011]

  after Bill Orcutt

this articulation
of travelled rings stricken
does not exhilarate
scraped vocabulary
or a quick inversion
of siren chord gossip

            calloused fingers compel
an imagination

strung metal corridors
whistle spring dissonance

breathing language opens
into the slightest voice

and through the sepulchral sound hole
wind and dust
                      converse
